The main cast of The Office

The Office is a American adaptation of the BBC series of the same name. It is styled as a mockumentary, that depicts the everyday lives of Dunder Mifflin Paper Company employees, based in Scranton, Pennsylvania. It involves the regional manager, Michael Scott; the receptionist, Pam Beesly; the accountants, Angela Martin, Kevin Malone and Oscar Martinez; and the numerous salesmen, including Jim Halpert, Dwight Schrute, Stanley Hudson, Phyllis Lapin-Vance, Creed Bratton, Andy Bernard, and Kelly Kapoor; the human resources person, Toby Flenderson; and the supply relations representative, Meredith Palmer. The series is also mixed in with numerous pranks, with Jim playing the majority of them on Dwight. This continuous back and forth makes the show a riot to watch. This show is one of the special few, due to the fact that it is filmed in the style of a documentary, complete with confessionals, and filmed with a single camera setup, without any studio audience or laugh track. Since the U.K. version of this show had gotten such bad reviews, the producers of this show had a lot of flexibility writing this script, and improvising certain scene. The first season of the U.S. version was met with mixed reviews, and the writers followed up with four seasons that received high praise from television critics. The middle seasons were again met with some criticism for a decline in quality, but the ratings were brought up again in the final season, with writers from the earlier seasons coming back and contributing the the script. This helped the final season come back up in the ratings.

  1. The office is one of my favorite shows. I watch it everyday and I've seen every episode. Dwight and Jim are my favorite characters in the show. They are absolutely hilarious. Without them, the show wouldn't be the same.
